Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has acknowledged for the first time his country's involvement in the gadget operation in Lebanon.
The attack in question was carried out in September against members of Lebanon's Hezbollah, during which hundreds of pagers and mobile phones exploded.
The fact that the head of the Israeli government officially confirmed Tel Aviv's participation in this operation was announced to the general public by his press secretary, Omer Dostri.
Let us recall that on September 17 and 18, pagers, smartphones, radios and some other means of communication exploded in different regions of Lebanon.
Western media reported that at least 37 people were killed and over three thousand were injured to varying degrees of severity.
Local authorities and Hezbollah leadership blamed Israel for the incident.
Netanyahu confirmed on Sunday that he had given permission for the operation with pagers in Lebanon, MIA Rossiya Segodnya quotes Dostri as saying.
Since October 1, 2024, Tel Aviv has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah, while simultaneously continuing to carry out air strikes on Lebanon.
This resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, among whom were reportedly the leaders of the aforementioned Shiite movement.
And because of the destruction, over a million local residents were forced to leave their places of residence and became refugees.
According to the latest figures, 3,186 citizens have been killed and 14,078 injured in Lebanon since the bombing began.
