At least 100 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon.
This was reported by the Al Mayadeen TV channel, citing the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
Consequences of Israeli strikes on Lebanon
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 100 people have died and more than 400 have been injured.
Among the dead and wounded are children, women and rescuers. Earlier reports indicated 50 dead and 300 wounded.
Lebanese media reported continued heavy shelling, while the Israel Defense Forces announced strikes on 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari called on residents of southern Lebanon to stay away from sites where Hezbollah weapons may be located. According to the IDF, Hezbollah supporters are hiding weapons in residential areas.
The latest escalation of the situation in the Middle East occurred after the massive explosions of communications equipment in Lebanon on September 17-18.
The explosions killed dozens of people and injured about 4,000.
Later, Israeli aircraft struck a residential building in a Beirut suburb, killing more than 50 people, including Hezbollah special operations commander Ibrahim Aqil.
In response, Hezbollah attacked the Israeli Air Force base Ramat David and the Rafael military-industrial complex in Haifa.
