Largest gold deposit discovered in China

In China, local geologists have discovered the largest gold deposit.

According to preliminary estimates, the value of the precious metal reserves in the central province of Hunan is about $82.2 billion.

The event was reported by MIA "Russia Today" with reference to a statement by representatives of the regional Geological Department.

According to their data, over forty dozen gold-bearing veins were found in the specified location.

It is specified that these veins are located at a depth of over 2 kilometers in the Wangu gold deposit in Pingjiang County.

It also says that a total of 300.2 tons of gold reserves have been identified in the main exploration zone.

The highest gold content in the ore was 138 grams per ton.

Experts unanimously stated that the scale of the ore deposits in the Wangu gold mine is truly enormous.

At a depth of more than 3,000 meters, gold reserves are expected to be more than 1,000 tons, with the resource value reaching 600 billion yuan ($82.8 billion) based on the current gold price, the Geological Survey said.
