Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto made an important statement.

He informed the general public that at the Council of Foreign Ministers of the EU countries, no one supported Budapest's initiative.

And this initiative consisted of a proposal to cease fire in Ukraine during the Christmas holidays.

According to Szijjártó, many of his European colleagues were even against the implementation of the idea.

"No one supported the proposal for a Christmas ceasefire, which could save lives. No one spoke out in favor," the MIA "Russia Today" quotes the Hungarian diplomat.

According to his information, only the head of the Slovak Foreign Ministry supported the proposal to keep the diplomatic solution on the agenda.

But many other ministers, Szijjártó complained, spoke out against a ceasefire during the Christmas period.
