Germany confirms issuance of arrest warrants in Nord Stream bombing case

The German government has confirmed that arrest warrants have been issued in the case of the explosion of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

The corresponding statement was made on September 25 by the official representative of the German government, Steffen Hebestreit, at a briefing.

A German cabinet spokesman confirmed that arrest warrants had been issued in connection with the gas pipeline bombings, noting that this was a common occurrence in a state governed by the rule of law.

Heberstreit noted that the head of the German government, Olaf Scholz, has always spoken clearly about the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline.

Stating that he wants to know who the people who carried out the attack were, the official added.

In August, the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung reported that the German Prosecutor General's Office had issued an arrest warrant for a diving instructor from Ukraine suspected of involvement in the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipeline.

The publication noted that the German Prosecutor General's Office suspects two more Ukrainian diving instructors.
