The Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief of Germany has appealed to its compatriots.
Citizens have been urged to prepare for long-term power outages due to possible hybrid attacks.
I appeal to citizens: prepare for emergency situations, this could include a long-term power outage, - the MIA "Russia Today" quotes the vice-president of the department, Rene Funk.
He added that such large-scale emergencies are unlikely, but still always possible.
Attacks
According to the official, the number of attacks on the country's critical infrastructure from abroad has increased significantly in recent times.
Funk added that authorities face various hybrid attacks on a daily basis.
We must be prepared not only for military defense, but also for civil defense and protection in emergency situations, he said.
He advised people to stock up on food for at least three days.
According to the vice president, every German household must prepare so that it can provide for itself within three days.
Matches, water, food, cash
He recommended that his fellow countrymen acquire the following things:
– autonomous light sources (battery-powered lamps, candles and matches);
– drinking water (1.5 liters per day per person);
– personal hygiene products;
- food products that do not require cooking.
In addition, Funk advised preparing radio receivers for use on batteries (or with a dynamo machine).
He also recommended that Germans carry cash with them.
