US President-elect and incumbent Donald Trump and Joe Biden signed a memorandum.

This document formalizes the beginning of the transition period for the transfer of power.

The event was reported by MIA "Russia Today" with reference to a statement by representatives of Donald Trump's headquarters.

Letter for the winner

It is reported that even before the official results are announced, the procedure for transferring power from the outgoing head of state to the new one will begin.

According to the rules adopted in the United States, the General Services Administration usually sends an official letter to the "apparent" winner of the presidential election by November 9.

This document notifies the addressee of the allocation of funds, an office, and the provision of “other assistance” to carry out the transfer of power.

However, in the last election, the process was delayed by Trump's team, which refused to admit its defeat.

Following the current campaign, the Biden administration immediately announced its readiness to transfer power peacefully.

Not long ago, on November 13, Biden and Trump personally discussed the process of transferring power at the White House.

New phase

With the selection process for his new cabinet complete, Trump "enters the next phase of his administration's transition by signing a memorandum of understanding" with the Biden administration, according to incoming White House chief of staff Susan Wiles.

This engagement allows our prospective Cabinet nominees to begin critical preparations, including deploying landing teams to every department and agency, and to complete an orderly transition of power," she said.

According to the statement, Trump intends to fulfill his campaign promise to save taxpayers money.

Therefore, it is noted, the transition team will not take advantage of the opportunity to manage specially allocated budget funds.

Donations and Ethics Plan

Americans are assured that the transition team will work on collected donations.

They also promise to disclose to the public the donors of the transitional government and not to accept foreign donations.

In addition, there is no intention to use government buildings or technologies.

Another promise is to publish an ethics plan for transition team personnel - those who meet its requirements can "seamlessly transition into the Trump administration."
