The bad weather that has caused a lot of trouble in some regions of Spain, especially in the autonomous community of Valencia, has reached Barcelona.
In the capital of Catalonia, heavy rains flooded the international airport "El Prat" - both the terminal and the runway.
As reported by the TASS agency, citing the operator of Spanish airports (Aena), about 70 flights were cancelled in Barcelona (some media outlets write about the cancellation of about 80 flights).
According to available information, 18 planes that were supposed to land at El Prat were diverted to other airports.
A crisis committee has been created in Barcelona to monitor the weather situation.
Earlier, the Spanish railway operator Renfe announced the suspension of commuter train services in Catalonia.
The reason is still the same - the rage of the fierce elements that came from another part of the country.
By the way. The Spanish State Meteorological Agency has raised the weather danger level in the Barcelona area to the maximum due to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the search for missing citizens continues in the east of the country.
Some time ago, heavy rains there caused severe flooding, resulting in numerous casualties and destruction.
According to the latest data, at least 220 people have died in the region, with dozens, if not hundreds, still missing.
As already noted, Valencia was the hardest hit. Thousands of rescuers, military personnel, law enforcement officers and volunteers are involved in search and rescue operations there.
