An unusual tragic incident occurred in the American state of Virginia.
During a hunt, a 58-year-old man was killed when a bear fell from a tree after being shot.
Unfortunately, the injured hunter did not survive.
This was reported by the USA Today newspaper, citing employees of the regional Department of Wildlife Resources.
As reported by the Belta agency, which has reviewed the publication, the incident took place on the morning of December 9 in Lunenburg County.
Local authorities reported the tragedy only on December 17.
According to the preliminary investigation, a group of hunters drove the bear up a tree.
One of the men shot at the animal, which fell on another hunter who was three meters from the tree at the time.
One of the group members provided first aid to the victim.
Rescuers and an ambulance team soon arrived at the scene of the tragedy.
The injured man was taken to hospital. He died a few days later, on December 13.
The Department has advised that there are currently no plans to bring any charges in connection with the death of the citizen while hunting.
