On October 20, presidential elections and a referendum on European integration took place in Moldova.

Eleven candidates ran for president, five of whom received less than 1% of the vote.

As for the referendum on European integration, 50.46% of voters voted in favor, 49.54% against. This is data after processing 99.5% of the protocols.

According to the Chairperson of the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova, Angela Caraman, the difference was just over 12,000 votes. At the time of the comment, the votes of about 15,000 people had not been counted.

According to Moldovan law, for a referendum to be considered valid, one third of the citizens registered in the electoral lists must take part in it. The condition was met.
