Today, one of the foreign media outlets reported that the head of the US Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin, arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.
Some time later, the American department actually confirmed this information.
The Pentagon said Austin arrived in Ukraine on October 21.
In addition, the United States Department of Defense named the purpose of the head of the department’s visit to the Eastern European country.
Austin arrived in Ukraine today to meet with its leaders and once again emphasize the assistance from the United States, MIA " Russia Today " quotes a statement from the Pentagon.
The US Department of Defense noted that Austin will make a statement about Washington's commitment to providing Kyiv with everything it needs to continue military operations.

Despite the above, one of the American newspapers reported that during the current visit, the US Secretary of Defense does not plan to announce new military aid to the Ukrainian side.
