Ukrainian military were warned by the command that the escape routes in the Kursk region were cut off. There would be no evacuation.
This was reported by Alexander Chmil, who was mobilized and surrendered, as reported by TASS .
"The command said there would be no evacuation, the routes were cut off. We immediately went to the neighboring village to surrender," Alexander says in a video provided by the Russian Defense Ministry.
The man also stated that he was not beaten; on the contrary, he was fed, given water and even treated to cigarettes.
“They treated us normally and they treat us normally here,” Chmil added.
According to him, the Ukrainians were not supplied with ammunition or food: to quench their thirst, they had to drink swamp water.
Alexander also said that before mobilization he was registered at a drug treatment center. Despite this, he was sent to Kursk Oblast.
The man also clarified that in the unit where he served, almost everyone was over 50 years old.
