It is noted that some time after Katz's statement, the fact of Sinwar's murder was confirmed by the IDF Spokesperson's Service: it was reported that the head of the Hamas Politburo was liquidated on Wednesday, October 16, during an Israeli military operation in the southern Gaza Strip.
