The Polish Prime Minister made the corresponding statement on October 12 at the congress of his Civic Platform party in Warsaw.
Tusk's statement is quoted by MIA "Russia Today" .
What Tusk said about strengthening the fence on the border with Belarus
The head of the Polish government said that strengthening the fence on the border with Belarus will reduce the number of deaths of illegal migrants.
According to Tusk, Poland has been strengthening the fence for several months, which previously could be easily overcome by pushing the bars apart with a jack.
As a result, the Polish Prime Minister continued, the number of attempts to illegally cross the border has been radically reduced.
According to him, migrants are increasingly realizing that the Polish border cannot be crossed.
If it turns out that it is impossible to cross it, then no one will die on this border, the head of the Polish government added.
According to Tusk, two migrants have died on the Polish-Belarusian border this year, while last year there were 18.
On October 8, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that 57 migrants have died on the border with the European Union countries since 2021.
