Szijjarto: Hungary will not support EU plan to send instructors to Ukraine

Hungary will not support the European Union's plan to send military advisers and instructors to Ukraine.

This was stated on October 2 by the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto.

His statement was reported by the Hungarian news agency MTI .

What Szijjarto said about the EU plan to send instructors to Ukraine

The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry recalled that in November 2022, the EU decided to begin training servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on its territory.

Now, according to the minister, the agenda includes sending military advisers to Ukraine for coordination tasks.

Szijjártó noted that this was a dangerous idea that could significantly increase the risk of escalation.

Therefore, we say no to this proposal, said the head of Hungarian diplomacy.

He noted that Hungary had already notified the European External Action Service that it could not support the initiative in this form.

We asked them to reconsider this proposal, ” the minister added.

According to him, Hungary will not support any initiative that increases the risk of escalation.

Brussels' proposal is exactly like that, so we say no to it, the Hungarian Foreign Minister summed up.
