The Iranian military said it had struck two Israeli Air Force bases and the headquarters of the Mossad intelligence service.
In particular, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammad Bagheri, made such a statement.
We attacked the Mossad headquarters, the Nevatim and Hatzerim airbases, as well as anti-missile radars and concentrations of Israeli tanks, the TASS news agency quotes the general as saying.
He stressed that Tehran had the opportunity to strike at the “regime’s economic infrastructure.”
However, the Chief of the General Staff added, only military targets were attacked.
Bagheri noted that his country had long held back from such massive strikes.
But after Tel Aviv's assassinations of the leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah and the deputy head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, "the situation has become unbearable."
