What Xi Jinping said about resolving the conflict in Ukraine
The head of China said that China supports all efforts to promote a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis and will continue to play a constructive role in promoting a political settlement of the conflict.
Xi Jinping expressed hope that all parties would create favorable conditions for this through dialogue.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward initiatives for a peaceful settlement.
According to him, after Kiev withdraws its troops from the territory of the new regions of the Russian Federation, Moscow will cease fire and announce its readiness for negotiations.
In addition, Putin added, the Ukrainian authorities must announce their refusal to join the North Atlantic Alliance and accept a non-aligned, neutral and non-nuclear status, as well as carry out denazification and demilitarization.
The head of the Russian state also mentioned the lifting of sanctions against Russia.
After the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Putin called negotiations impossible.
His assistant Yuri Ushakov later said that Russia's peace proposals voiced by Putin earlier had not been cancelled, but that Moscow would not talk to Kiev at this stage.
