One of the foreign media outlets reported that businessman Pavel Durov refused diplomatic assistance from the two countries.

We are talking about the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates.

It is noted that Moscow and Abu Dhabi offered assistance to Durov.

However, the founder of the Telegram messenger did not agree.

The corresponding information appeared in the Politico newspaper, whose journalists cited an official from France, TASS reports.

According to a source of a foreign newspaper, Durov refused consular protection from the Russian side.

In addition, the businessman did not give consent to a visit from a person from the UAE diplomatic mission in France.

At the same time, Durov reportedly agreed to inform the embassy of the United Arab Emirates about the situation.

The businessman was detained at one of France's airports on August 24.

In a Western European country, the founder of the Telegram messenger is suspected of criminal offenses.

A few days after Durov's arrest, it became known that he had been released on bail. However, the businessman is subject to the following ban: he cannot leave French territory.
