Last night, an asteroid the size of a refrigerator that flew from space caused a stir in the Philippines.

A one and a half meter boulder of extraterrestrial origin almost hit the Earth.

As reported by the NTV channel, the asteroid burned up just a few hundred meters from the surface of the Philippines.

Footage of the arrival of a “guest” from the depths of space appeared on social networks – the corresponding videos were filmed by local residents.

By the way, scientists from Arizona (USA) were the first to learn about the existence of this asteroid – just 12 hours before it entered the Earth’s atmosphere.

At the moment of entering the upper layers of the atmosphere at an altitude of about 100 kilometers, the object created a plasma cloud around itself, visible even 700 kilometers from that location.

According to available information, only small particles reached the earth's surface, which, scientists believe, do not pose any danger.
