Unfortunately, when growing onion sets, often annoying mistakes are made that can have fatal consequences for the plant.
This is especially true for inexperienced, novice gardeners, whose crops often go to seed.
To prevent this from happening, you should follow certain rules.

First. For planting, we select loose, fertile, well-moistened soil.
Second. To prevent this very arrow, it is important not to forget about regular watering.
Experienced gardeners recommend a solution of hydrogen peroxide - 1 part peroxide dissolved in 10 parts water.
The plant should be treated to such a “treat” once a week, but it also needs constant watering with clean water.
Third. Incorrect storage conditions are also the cause of bolting due to premature germination of the seedlings.
Planting material should be stored in a dry, cool place where there is no high temperature or humidity.
Before planting, it is recommended to warm up the seedlings (temperature – about +40 degrees). The procedure reduces the likelihood of bolting.
Fourth. The size of the bulbs is also important. Small sets (up to 30 mm) are the least susceptible to bolting.
By the way, you shouldn’t plant too early in cold soil – this may cause flower stalks to sprout.
Experienced plant growers advise to send the seedlings into open ground when the soil warms up to at least +12 degrees.
Fifth. If, even if all the above rules are followed, the onion still shoots, you need to remove them immediately.
We break them off at a height of 1-2 centimeters from the top sheet.
Sixth. Another option to avoid bolting is to choose varieties that are resistant to this phenomenon.
