When buying soil, pay attention to the information from the manufacturer (on the packaging).
It should contain information about the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
If we do it ourselves
You can make it yourself: make it from neutral peat (80%) and agroperlite (20%).
This soil is ideal for sowing tomato, pepper and cucumber seedlings.
For greens (sown directly and not picked), a more nutritious composition is needed, so we add biohumus to peat and perlite.
It is better not to plant plants in pure peat - such soil often dries out, which complicates the possibilities for the normal development of their root system.
Baking powder
If you buy soil, make sure it has a neutral pH (recommended for all vegetable crops grown indoors).
Acidic soil is suitable for garden or coniferous plants. But cucumbers and tomatoes will not take root in it.
If the soil is based on peat and rotted manure, then the soil is often too dense, since there is no loosening agent.
It should be added for normal root development, to avoid moisture stagnation and to eliminate problems with clumping.
