To scare away wasps from their plots, many summer residents are forced to resort to purchased aerosols, but there is a much more convenient way to get rid of pests.
It turns out that it is enough to plant certain plants in the garden and vegetable garden - wasps cannot stand their smell, so their number in your property will be minimal.
Mint
The smell of mint has a deterrent effect not only on wasps, but also on rodents, flies and ants. Peppermint and spearmint are considered the best in this regard.
Sagebrush
Wasps also have a negative attitude towards wormwood. By the way, this is not the only reason why you should sow your plot with this plant: wormwood is used in many recipes of traditional medicine, and even in cooking.
Common tansy
This plant is considered a weed, because it grows along roads, in meadows and fields. But you shouldn't treat it so dismissively: firstly, tansy contains essential oils that repel wasps, and secondly, it looks quite decorative with its feathery leaves, long stems and yellow button flowers.
Sage officinalis
A perennial subshrub with oblong stems, which are decorated with flowers of blue-violet tones, attracts bees and butterflies and has a completely opposite effect on wasps. And medicinal sage also has insecticidal and antiseptic properties.
Hyssop
You will probably recognize this honey plant by its spicy leaves with anise aroma and lavender-colored inflorescences. Few people know that hyssop can be eaten. Therefore, it can become not only a highlight of the garden plot, which helps to fight wasps, but also an exquisite addition to the table.
For reference
Wasp is a name that does not have a strictly scientific definition for some insects from the infraorder Aculeata of the order Hymenoptera.
