Stimulating orchid flowering is not as difficult as it seems at first glance.
We'll tell you what you need to do to make an orchid shoot an arrow.
How to stimulate orchid flowering
The first option is a sharp change in temperature. For orchids, the optimal temperature is +18-25 degrees.
When the night temperature reaches +16 degrees, take the flower out onto the balcony for the night and place it closer to the window.
The second option is additional lighting. The orchid is a light-loving plant, in winter it does not have enough light.
Use fluorescent and halogen lamps with a power of up to 40 W; incandescent lamps cannot be used.
Also, you should not place the orchid in direct sunlight.
The third option is to increase the interval between waterings. Water the flower approximately once every 10 days. You should also exclude fertilizing.
An alternative method is to dip the orchid pot in warm water (35 degrees) for 10-20 minutes for three days in a row, and then leave the flower without watering.
Fourthly, you can stimulate flowering by providing the roots with maximum access to light using a pot with transparent walls.
You can also cut the flower stalk two centimeters above the third bud. After cutting, the flower pot cannot be moved, this will prevent the orchid from blooming.
