This flower will survive even in concrete! Why is it banned from being sold in nurseries

Imagine a plant that grows in cracks in the asphalt, blooms without watering and survives frost.

Novice gardeners who cannot yet boast of extensive knowledge are sure that this is simply impossible.

But experienced plant growers immediately understood what kind of flower they were talking about.

The modest California poppy, often called the “California poppy,” can boast all of the above properties.

Its seeds sprout even on stones, and bright flowers decorate the area from June until frost.

But you won't find it in nurseries. You'll probably ask why.

The reason is simple: California poppy is too unpretentious to make money on it.

Why buy seedlings if you can throw seeds in the ground and go about your business? Seedlings will appear even if you forget about them.

In addition, its roots secrete substances that suppress the growth of weeds. Plant it along the fence and get a flowering carpet without weeding.

But be careful: California poppy quickly spreads by self-seeding. If you don’t want it to take over your entire garden, cut off the wilted buds.

And don’t overfeed it—excess nutrition will lead to foliage growth at the expense of flowering.

Just throw the seeds into the soil in early spring, tamp them down a bit and wait for a miracle. In a month, your plot will be unrecognizable.
