A cucumber harvest is never too much. They make excellent salads and winter preserves.

To increase the yield, you need to not only grow strong seedlings or sow seeds in fertilized and warm soil. It is advisable to have an idea of agricultural technology.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", a scientist, agronomist and landscape designer, told how to milk a high cucumber harvest.

The right neighborhood

It has long been no secret that crops growing in the same garden bed can help or hinder each other.

To have something to eat and pickle, sow the following in the cucumber bed:

  • dill,
  • parsley,
  • fennel,
  • arugula.

However, the real discovery for the gardener will be sowing radishes.

The root crop saturates the soil with nitrogen, which actively promotes the growth of cucumbers.

Radish also repels cucumber moth.

By the way, to combat pests, you can plant onions nearby.

What you can't plant with cucumbers

Make sure that there are no related crops nearby, such as zucchini, pumpkin, watermelon, etc.

They have a tendency to cross-pollinate, and there is also a high risk of spreading diseases and pest attacks.
