Fertilizing is an extremely important process in growing tomatoes.

There are many remedies, each one is good in its own way, maybe excellent, maybe not so much.

And there is one that, as experienced gardeners say, produces excellent harvests, the bushes are covered with fruit.

First of all, it is worth noting that tomatoes need balanced fertilizer.

They like potassium (they grow healthy and produce tasty fruits) and calcium (prevents blossom-end rot).

They also need boron (for good fruit formation) and phosphorus (for the root system to develop).

Nitrogen is necessary for the growth of green mass.

It is very important: all these components must be balanced; it should not be that one thing is given more and another less.

Such fertilizer is Borofoska. Everything is perfectly balanced here.

There is no nitrogen, but it can be added by watering with herbal infusions of nettles or weeds, or by fertilizing with urea.

Borofoska is applied in the spring during digging – from 50 to 70 grams per square meter.

You can scatter the granules over the beds and then dig everything up. Or you can give them in portions – under each bush.

The greatest effect is achieved if the above mentioned product is mixed with fish meal and the mixture is added to the hole before planting (under each tomato).

You need about two tablespoons per plant. If without fish meal, a tablespoon is enough.

You can also water with this mixture - a tablespoon per 10-liter watering can.
