Spring is just around the corner. This means that soon in villages, gardens and summer cottages the active growth of cherry trees will begin.
For those who want to get the maximum possible harvest, it is worth knowing some of the features of feeding.
If you do everything right, you might not have enough buckets to pick the berries.

By feeding the cherry tree in the spring, we help improve its health and increase its resistance to pests and diseases.
As already noted, fertilizing increases yields and stimulates the growth of leaves and shoots, which is extremely important for fruit formation.
You can feed:
– ammonium nitrate (stimulates the growth of green mass);
– ammonium sulfate (improves plant metabolism);
– superphosphate (stimulates the development of the root system, helps to better absorb nutrients);
– sand phosphorus (if the soil is loose and poor);
– potassium sulfate (strengthens cell walls, improves the taste of berries);
– wood ash;
- compost;
- manure.
You can water the cherry with solutions containing boron and manganese. This can also increase the yield.
The first spring feeding is recommended to be carried out at the beginning of April – this is when the active growth of cherries begins.
If we are talking about dry fertilizers, then we evenly scatter the granules around the tree at a distance of 30 to 50 centimeters.
Then carefully bury it in the soil and water it.
As for liquid fertilizers, we dissolve them in water (follow the instructions on the package) and water them at the roots.
The age and condition of the trees should be taken into account.
Young cherries require less fertilizer than older plants.
