To treat extensive late blight damage to tomato beds, it is recommended to use fungicidal preparations.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to prepare a working solution, strictly following the manufacturer's recommendations on the packaging.
One of these effective remedies is a solution of copper sulfate, prepared from 2 tablespoons of the preparation and 10 liters of water.
Treatment of tomatoes with a copper-containing composition to destroy fungal conidia is permitted only before the crop blooms. It cannot be used during the ripening period of the crop.
But there are other methods that do not involve the use of chemicals - they are often used by people.
Garlic infusion
To prepare a garlic infusion, grind 100 g of garlic together with its stems and pour 200 ml of water over the resulting mass. Let it sit for 24 hours, then strain the mixture. The resulting infusion should be added to a bucket of water and supplemented with 1 g of potassium permanganate. This product is recommended for spraying tomatoes.
Yeast
The yeast solution is made from 80 g of live yeast, which is diluted in 10 liters of water. This solution can be used to water tomatoes.
Kefir or whey
In a bucket of water, dilute 1 liter of fermented milk product (kefir or whey). Treat tomatoes with this solution every week.
Iodine
This recipe involves adding 1 liter of milk and 20 drops of iodine to a bucket of water. The resulting mixture can be sprayed on tomatoes growing in the beds.
Ash infusion
To prepare the product, mix 1 bucket of water and 0.5 bucket of wood ash. Let it sit for 5-7 days. During this period, the infusion should be stirred regularly. After that, drain the liquid and add water to 30 l, and also add 30 g of soap.
An ash-based infusion should be used to treat plants 2 weeks after planting seedlings, as well as before flowering and the appearance of ovaries.
Salt
All you need is 1 cup of salt, which you need to dilute in a bucket of water. Treat the filled tomatoes that have not yet turned red.
