Thuja is a coniferous plant that is suitable for growing in a pot.
If you want to enjoy its freshness and greenery throughout the year, you should pay a little attention to it and provide proper care, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.
But the first thing you need to do is choose the right variety of thuja that is suitable for growing in pots.
What kind of thuja can be grown in a pot
The main thing is that the variety you choose is compact in size and suitable for container growing.
These requirements are met by the varieties of western thuja with its small root system. It grows well in a limited space.
Thuja occidentalis Danica
This thuja is a dwarf and reaches 60 cm in height. Its crown is spherical and dense. All of the above makes Danica an ideal candidate for growing in pots.
Thuja occidentalis Little Tim
Another dwarf spherical thuja - although its height is somewhat higher than the previous one: Little Tim can grow up to 80 cm in height.
Thuja occidentalis Miriam
This variety has golden-yellow needles and reaches a height of up to 100 cm. Miriam is perfect for growing in a pot and can thus take on the role of a bright accent in the interior.
