Surely many people know that the Finns never tire of bragging about the particularly sweet and juicy strawberries that they grow on their plots of land.

What's the secret? If you look into it, there's nothing tricky about it.

The method is actually quite simple, but at the same time very effective.

By the way, this method of growing is popular far beyond the borders of Suomi.

It's all about the fit

An expert from the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , spoke about exactly how to grow especially sweet strawberries in this way.

The key rule of the Finnish method is planting seedlings.

According to the specialist, it must be planted on a special covering material.

However, before this, the beds should be prepared.

It is worth remembering: for strawberries you need to choose a well-lit place.

The beds should be placed from south to north - in one to three rows. The height is no more than 0.4 meters, the width is 0.5-0.6 meters.

Along the center of each bed we will lay a perforated hose or drip tape of the required length.

We connect one end to the main watering hose, and the other to a plug to complete the circuit.

In this way we guarantee uniform and efficient irrigation of strawberries.

Covering material

Now we can start working on the covering material – we’ll cover the bed with it.

We will make holes in the material with a diameter of 7 to 10 centimeters.

The holes should be staggered at a distance of 0.3 meters from each other (both in width and between rows).

These “gaps” are used for planting strawberry bushes.

Planted? Well, then you need to provide the plant with proper watering and fertilizing, not forgetting about constant trimming of the runners.

If you stick to this method, you will get a good harvest of strawberries with especially tasty and juicy berries.
