Every gardener who grows cucumbers strives for the maximum yield of the crop.
Unfortunately, not everyone and not always manages to achieve what they want. Often – because of one annoying mistake.
The fact is that some citizens, especially those inexperienced in gardening, plant cucumbers in places where plants dangerous to vegetables previously grew.
But experienced ones invariably choose those locations where representatives of flora useful for cucumbers were previously “registered”.
As a result, the former may lose all their plants, not to mention their harvest, while the latter will once again record an abundance of large, tasty, crispy fruits.

Experienced gardeners say that cucumbers feel most comfortable in soil where tomatoes, cabbage (early), peppers, onions, peas, potatoes and greens previously grew.
But in the places where late root crops and white cabbage “lived”, do not under any circumstances plant cucumbers.
As in those places where pumpkin crops previously grew.
You have to wait at least two years. Otherwise, you can hardly expect a good harvest.
By the way. It is best to start preparing cucumber beds in the fall – the soil will be able to recover and be saturated with nutrients.
In the spring, before planting, you should level the beds and remove all weeds.
It is recommended to apply mineral fertilizers, in particular nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium (about 30 grams per square meter).
It wouldn’t hurt to dig up the soil again to ensure even distribution of the fertilizers.
