How to grow potatoes according to Schroeder
First, the soil. It should be loose, dry and fertilized.
Potatoes react poorly to organic matter; mineral fertilizers should be used.
A mixture of ash and steamed bone meal is especially effective.
Secondly, seed material. Don't chase new varieties, choose proven ones.
The tubers should be healthy and medium-sized. Large ones can be cut in half (lengthwise).
Thirdly, the planting depth. It should be such that the tubers are covered with a 5-centimeter layer of soil.
Fourthly, hilling. When the bushes grow to 15 cm, they need to be hilled so that only the tops are visible.
Fifth, top training. This term means bending the stalks to the ground.
As a result, their growth stops, and the plant directs all its energy to the formation of tubers.
