Getting a rich strawberry harvest is not as difficult as it seems.
We tell you about the Finnish method of growing strawberries.
How Strawberries Are Grown in Finland
The essence of the Finnish method is planting seedlings on covering material.
The beds should be located in a sunny area from south to north. The bushes are planted in one, two or three rows.
We form high (up to 40 cm) beds 50-60 centimeters wide, and place a perforated hose or drip tape in the center.
The length of the hose/tape should correspond to the length of the bed. We connect one end to the watering hose, and close the other with a plug.
We cover the beds with covering material, making holes in it with a diameter of 7-10 centimeters in a checkerboard pattern.
The distance between holes should be 25-30 centimeters, between rows – 30-35 centimeters.
We plant strawberries. Standard care - regular watering, fertilizing, trimming runners.
