As every gardener knows, pumpkin harvesting must be completed before the frost sets in.

But what to do if not all the pumpkins have had time to ripen? Experienced gardeners advise plucking the ovaries that form after 3-4 fruits.

True, this advice is only suitable for small areas. If the pumpkin field is large, plucking is simply physically impossible.

The only way out is to leave the harvest to ripen, but even in this case there is one nuance.

The fact is that due to the immaturity of the skin, young pumpkins are very susceptible to rotting - the slightest damage to the skin is enough for the infection to develop.

In this regard, if you decide to leave the fruits in a warm place to ripen, you should use the well-known drug "Fitosporin".

Dilute 30 ml of the stock solution in 1 liter of water and either wipe the pumpkins or spray them with a spray bottle.

By the way, this treatment will also be useful for ripe fruits.

Don't worry - hay bacillus does not pose a danger to humans, which cannot be said about various pathogens.

Before using processed fruits for food, it will be enough to rinse them under running water.
