If you want to harvest a good crop of vegetables from your plot, in particular carrots, take care of the autumn feeding of root crops.
The right time to apply fertilizer is early autumn.
It is at this time that you should provide the carrots with nutrients for the last time so that they are sweet, large and store well.
The first component of the final feeding for carrots is potassium nitrate.
For one bucket of water you will need one tablespoon of the named preparation.
The second component is wood ash, which requires exactly one glass.
If you don’t have this amount of ash on hand, you can replace it with potassium sulfate – you’ll only need one tablespoon.
The resulting solution should be used to water the carrot beds. If the weather is dry, it is recommended to fertilize after several fractional waterings to avoid cracking of the root crops.
