If you want to get a second harvest of, for example, dill, you can, of course, sow it again.
It will take about 2 weeks for it to grow to a small size, and it will take only a month for full-fledged dill bushes to form.
But you can also take another approach - rejuvenate green crops by pruning.
So, some varieties of dill can simply be cut off, and they will begin to produce new greenery and will not produce seeds for a longer time.
The same technique works with basil, which needs to be cut during the flowering phase – it will grow back quite quickly.
Parsley shows the best reaction to pruning: many gardeners cut it almost to the root - even after such actions, the crop will continue to feel good and will grow actively even when the temperature drops.
Classic chives also grow well after pruning – as an example we can cite the “Aprelsky” variety and others.
You can trim not only greenery, but also flowers - petunias, which quickly grow back after trimming, or alyssum.
