Regular mowing of the grass is a must to maintain the beautiful appearance of the lawn.
But what to do with the mown greens?
Many summer residents simply throw it away. And in vain, because such grass can be used in a country plot.
There are at least 5 interesting options for using mown grass in the garden.
Add to compost
Cut grass can be sent not to the trash, but to the compost bin.
Just keep in mind the following: such a component will primarily become a source of nitrogen. Remember the importance of the correct ratio of microelements!
There is another important recommendation: if herbicides have recently been used on the lawn, then there is no need to put the mown grass in the compost heap.
Fertilizer
Mown grass can easily be turned into an “independent” fertilizer.
To do this, simply pour the plant remains into a deep container and fill it with water.
For every volume of “greens” there should be two volumes of liquid.
After 2-3 weeks, the infusion will be ready, ideal for many garden and vegetable crops.
Mulch
Grass clippings are a good mulching material.
Use in a country toilet
This “greenery” is excellent at eliminating stench.
This is why it is worth sending the mown grass into the cesspool.
Pet food
Grass clippings can be included in the diet of some domestic animals, such as rabbits and goats.
Thus, it makes sense to use “greens” as a feed supplement.
