The taste of beets will depend on many factors: soil quality, correct watering, variety, weather conditions.
Fertilizers also play an important role.
Not all gardeners know that several weeks before harvesting the crop needs to be fed. Thanks to this, the taste of beets will be ideal.
The best time to apply nutrients will be the end of July, according to Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, a landscape designer and agronomist.
What fertilizers can be applied?
Not everyone knows that even at this stage of development, beets may face a lack of nitrogen. In this case, calcium nitrate will come to the rescue. It should be applied according to the instructions.
You can pay attention to potassium magnesium sulfate. Ten grams of the preparation is quite enough for a bucket of water. Potassium sulfate can be considered as a worthy option. For each liter of water, take one gram of fertilizer.
The same proportions apply to potassium monophosphate, which can significantly improve the taste of beets.
Remember that the timing of application of this fertilizer depends on the vegetable variety. It is optimal to carry out the procedure three weeks before the planned harvest date.
