Many gardeners face the following problem: sometimes the leaves on tomatoes start to curl.

There are ways to quickly resolve a difficult situation. Nothing complicated or troublesome.

But why do leaves curl? Sometimes, from diseases. Sometimes, from lack of moisture (the leaf curls, trying to save it).

If you rarely water your tomatoes and notice that the leaves are curling, then increase the frequency of the procedure.

In general, experienced gardeners advise watering tomatoes once every five days. Under the bush - 5-10 liters of water.

By the way, the second reason for leaf curling is excess moisture (frequent rains or frequent watering in a greenhouse and in large quantities).

In this case, the leaf curls (mostly outward), trying to evaporate as much moisture as possible from the bush.

In this case, if the tomatoes are in open ground, we cover them with some kind of canopy. In a greenhouse, we stop watering.

The third reason is that the leaves curl up into a tube due to high temperatures. In the greenhouse, as well as on the ground, we provide shading. The problem is solved.

The fourth reason is excessive nitrogen fertilizers. Therefore, if the leaves curl, it is better to refuse such fertilizers.

The fifth reason is incorrect side-shooting, when a large number of side-shoots are removed.

The problem is solved by applying phosphorus-potassium fertilizers.

The sixth reason is that black winged midges suck out the juice, and maybe whiteflies.

Here insecticides will help us, which we will use to treat the tomatoes until they ripen.

The seventh reason is due to the peculiarity of the variety itself. Here you need to consult a professional gardener.
