If the cucumbers in your garden start to turn yellow and fall off, then there is a reason for this.
We will not consider all the factors that could lead to such “behavior” of this culture, we will only mention the most common reason – a deficiency of nutrients, namely potassium and magnesium.
The problem can be corrected with the help of mag-boron, which is diluted at the rate of 15 g of the preparation per 10 liters of water. Top dressing is carried out on the leaf and under the root.
As a rule, these actions are enough to solve the problem, but it does not hurt to observe the cucumber bed - perhaps the plants need other feedings.
Nitrogen
You can tell that cucumbers need nitrogen by the yellowed lower leaves. Another characteristic sign is growth cessation. Ammonium nitrate or urea will help to correct the situation - 1 tablespoon of the product is needed per 10 liters of water. Green fermentation medium will also help.
Potassium
If you notice a burn on the leaf blades along the edge, use potassium nitrate. In this case, it is worth using a liter of water and 10 g of the product. In addition, summer residents also add wood ash.
Magnesium
If there is a lack of magnesium, the leaves turn yellow in the middle, near the veins, after which they dry up and fall off. In such a situation, magnesium sulfate should be used without delay, which will saturate the cucumbers with phosphorus and sulfur.
Calcium
If you notice that young leaves are covered with bumps and wrinkles, this is an alarming sign - be sure to add calcium-containing fertilizers to the soil.
Earlier we talked about whether it is possible to grow tomatoes and cucumbers in the same greenhouse.
