Despite the impressive popularity of orchids, not all gardeners are familiar with the basic rules of caring for them.
And these flowers react very critically to shortcomings.
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed two main mistakes that orchid lovers should get rid of.

Violations of watering recommendations
This is an extremely important question, since a mistake in this case can lead not only to diseases of the flower, but even to its death.
You can't "flood" an orchid, as there is a high risk that the rotting process will start. It is almost impossible to recognize it at the initial stage.
Therefore, it is worth following certain rules of watering. They are quite simple. Assess the appearance of the root system: when it becomes silver, you can give the plant moisture. Orchids are watered in a special way - by immersing them in water for half an hour.
The water must be correct. First, the required volume is collected, waited for several hours, drained so as to get rid of sediment, and only after that the liquid becomes suitable for watering the orchid.
Nutrients
Like all plants, orchids need fertilizing, but they have slightly different needs. Most fertilizing can harm the flower. It is definitely impossible to use fertilizing that contains ammonia.
Also on the prohibited list are iodine and ammonia.
It is better not to use folk remedies, but to buy special compositions that are designed specifically for these plants.
