When growing cucumbers in a greenhouse, it is necessary to follow certain rules.

In particular, it is necessary to regularly loosen the soil. Why this is important, explains the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Why do you need to loosen the soil of cucumbers in a greenhouse?

Since cucumbers actively absorb water, a hard crust periodically forms on the surface of the soil.

Because of this, air does not reach the roots. To ensure the necessary aeration, the soil must be loosened regularly.

Loosening should be done carefully (to a depth of no more than 2 cm). It is also extremely important to monitor the condition of the roots.

If the roots are exposed, they need to be covered with light soil. But there is no need to hill up the cucumbers.

Earlier, the expert explained whether it is possible to plant melons together with tomatoes.
