Cherry trees love wood ash, but it is important to apply this fertilizer correctly.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about the nuances of feeding cherries with ash.
How to feed cherries with ash
It is advisable to add ash at the budding stage or during the flowering period.
In dry form, ash is added to holes or trenches at the rate of 1-2 liters of fertilizer per adult tree.
You can use granulated ash or ash solution (1-2 cups of ash per bucket of water).
Also in the spring, the cherry tree can be watered with a solution of urea (a tablespoon per bucket of water) or ammonium nitrate (two tablespoons per bucket of water).
Earlier, the expert told how to feed strawberries during flowering.
