The traditional method of growing flowers, including orchids, involves the use of a substrate.

If you resort to this unusual method, you will not have to take such careful care of orchids as when growing them in pots with soil.

In addition, by using water, you can forget about drying out the roots, and the plant’s root system will receive more oxygen, which has a beneficial effect on the health of the flower.

Choose a suitable container: a transparent glass or plastic container will do, the walls of which will not obstruct the access of light to the orchid roots (even a regular jar will do).

Fill the container with clean filtered or distilled water.

Prepare the plant: remove damaged or rotten parts of the roots. Place the orchid in a container, immersing the roots in water and leaving the leaves above the surface.

Orchid care includes providing the plant with light - to do this, the container should be placed in a place where bright light is available (but do not place the plant in direct sunlight).

It is also worth regularly changing the water in the container. To prevent root rot, it is recommended to do this at least once a week.

To ensure that the plant receives the necessary nutrients, add special fertilizers for orchids to the water.

Earlier, the expert told which plants should never be pruned in the spring.
