If you're looking for a simple yet effective approach to growing strawberries that will dramatically improve both plant health and yield, the four-bed rule is for you.
The features of this approach were shared by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
First year
The first thing you need to do is choose a plot that is well lit by the sun and divide it into 4 beds, then plant strawberry seedlings in the first bed.
Second year
Next autumn you will have excellent seedlings from the plants you planted. Select the best tendrils and transplant them to the second bed. All this time, the strawberries should be watered and all the necessary care procedures should be performed with them.
Third year
In summer, you will have the opportunity to harvest from the first plot, which promises to be gorgeous. You will get slightly fewer berries from the second. In addition, your tasks at this stage include transplanting seedlings from the second bed to the third.
Fourth year
After 3 years you will have an amazing harvest. When it is collected, remove the strawberry bushes from the first bed, after which the land will need to be plowed and fertilized, and in the fall do not forget to populate the fourth bed with seedlings from the third.
Fifth year
The first bed should be planted with legumes or oats, and in the second half of June, after flowering, the soil should be plowed again. Let it "settle" until the second half of August, after which it can be populated with seedlings from the fourth bed.
