Any gardener who is thinking about creating a flower garden on their plot would like to be able to enjoy flowering from early spring until late autumn.
You can be sure that what you want will become reality if you choose the right plants, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.
Take hostas and astilbes as a basis - they go well together, and their leaves remain decorative throughout the summer. In addition, the plants can exist in partial shade, and their height is small, which means that they will not block the view.
Phloxes boast long and beautiful flowering - from the many varieties, choose low ones that are suitable for the foreground - they will not draw attention to themselves and will allow you to appreciate the composition as a whole.
Find a place in the flowerbed for bugbane, which will delight you with its blooms at the end of the season and captivate everyone around with its scent. Its beautiful inflorescences will delight you almost until the snow falls. It is worth planting bugbane at the back, as it grows quite large.
Plant early bulbous flowers between perennials, which will add bright colors to your flowerbed immediately after the snow melts.
If you don’t want to bother with seedlings, take a closer look at daisies – these unpretentious flowers reproduce by self-seeding and grow for years.
The next trick concerns a vertical wall. You can, of course, use grapes, clematis and other perennials for its decoration, or you can limit yourself to sweet peas.
