Whether a pear tree will bear fruit well depends largely on the planting location.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, told us where in the garden you should plant a pear tree.
Where to plant a pear tree
Remember the main rule: a pear tree will grow well and bear fruit only in a very sunny area.
If you plant a pear in the shade, you may not get a harvest. Partial shade is also not an option, choose the sunniest place.
Secondly, you cannot plant a pear tree in an area with close groundwater levels.
There should also be no flooding from rain or melt water.
If the site is located in a lowland, plant the pear on an artificially formed hill with a diameter and height of 70-80 centimeters.
