There is still time before planting seedlings, which means that now is the time to start preparing the greenhouses installed on the site for the new season.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to first carefully inspect the greenhouse from the inside and outside in order to eliminate the damage, straighten the bent part and tighten the weakened one, after which you can safely begin to disinfect the greenhouse covering.
Important note: all work should be carried out only when the thermometer outside shows “plus”.
Greenhouse made of polycarbonate
Polycarbonate can be treated with laundry soap or a strong solution of potassium permanganate.
If you decide to use laundry soap, you need to shave it into hot water and make a strong solution, which is then filtered through gauze and poured into a sprayer. The resulting solution should be generously poured onto the frame and polycarbonate from the inside.
After this, the greenhouse doors should be tightly closed for two to three hours. After this time, the solution is washed off with clean water.
Another of your helpers is a strong solution of potassium permanganate of a dark pink hue.
The resulting product should also be poured into a spray bottle and applied to the "insides" of the greenhouse. After several hours, do not forget to wash off the solution with clean water.
Glass greenhouse
To treat a glass greenhouse, you can use regular laundry soap (see recipe above) or the “Whiteness” product.
Those who have chosen “Whiteness” need to dilute 50 ml of this product in 10 liters of warm water.
The resulting solution should be poured into a sprayer and the inside of the greenhouse (both the frame and the glass) should be treated. After finishing the treatment, the surfaces should be washed with clean water.
