One of the first things to please plant lovers after the end of the snowy winter is the hellebore.
Another nine plants that can compete with the perennial hellebore were named by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , and the honorable ninth and eighth places were taken by crocuses and snowdrops, which sometimes break through right from under the snow.
By mid-April, the unpretentious ornithogalum makes its presence known.
This flower grows on its own: during the process of loosening, its bulbs are spread throughout the flowerbed. But do not be afraid that the ornithogalum will take over the entire flowerbed - in the shortest possible time it completely disappears, giving way to other flowers.
Another plant that can become a real decoration for a flower bed in April is the royal hyacinth.
However, if you don’t want the flower to go wild, don’t forget to dig up the hyacinths every year and place them in a dry room for the summer.
Want to add some yellow to your flowerbed? Take a closer look at the marsh marigold – it opens its buds at the end of April. The double varieties of the flower look especially impressive.
When talking about primroses and early flowers, we cannot ignore the primrose, whose main advantage is long flowering. To ensure that the flowers are bright, take care of partial shade, the absence of sandy soils and moderate soil moisture.
By the end of April, daffodils also begin to bloom. Until recently, flower growers had to make do with only white and yellow varieties, but the situation has changed – now you can buy double daffodils, and those with red and pink centers.
Next in line are the fritillaries. In addition to their exotic appearance, these plants can boast of their ability to repel rodents.
Our list ends with early varieties of tulips – they bloom at about the same time as fritillaries and surprise with their diversity.
