Cherry yield will increase significantly if you feed it with wood ash in the spring.

How to properly use this fertilizer for feeding cherries is explained by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

How to feed cherries with ash in spring

The easiest and fastest option is to scatter ash around the tree, after moistening the soil and loosening it.

You need 100-200 grams of ash per square meter of soil. To prevent fungal diseases, you can powder the trunk and crown.

Watering with ash infusion is also very effective. Fill a liter jar of fertilizer with ten liters of hot water, mix thoroughly, leave for three to four days in a warm place (in a container with a lid).

It is advisable to stir the infusion daily. Strain before use. For a fruit-bearing tree, 8-10 liters of infusion are needed.

It is important to remember that ash is not compatible with mineral nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers.
